Art Palace Prague Visitor Guidelines

The Visitor Guidelines apply to all exhibition and public premises open to the public of the Art Palace Prague gallery (hereinafter “the gallery”).

1. General provisions

1. The gallery visitor is obliged to comply with the rules set out in the Visitor Guidelines and follow the instructions of the gallery staff.

2. By entering the gallery, the visitor acknowledges that the gallery premises are monitored by a camera system in order to protect the exhibited works and ensure safety.

3. The gallery reserves the right to amend or supplement the Visitor Guidelines.

4. By purchasing and presenting the ticket, the visitor expresses consent to the Visitor Guidelines.

2. Admission

1. Entrance to the gallery is possible only with a valid ticket. The ticket can be purchased at the gallery box office or online on the gallery’s website artpalaveprague.com, or the website goout.net.

2. The admission fee is determined by the valid price list at the box office and on the website of the gallery.

3. For safety reasons, the number of visitors in the gallery premises may be limited. Groups can have a maximum of 50 people.

4. The gallery reserves the right to regulate the entry of the visitors if the maximum capacity is reached. In such a case, visitors may be temporarily denied entry until the gallery premises become available.

5. Gallery opening hours are flexible and may be adjusted in case of private events or other organizational reasons. Any changes will be announced in advance on the gallery website.

6. The gallery is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00 during winter opening (April-September). Last entry is possible at least 30 minutes before closing time. Exceptions and temporary changes to opening hours will be announced on the gallery’s website.

7. The toilets are solely for the use of the gallery’s visitors.

3. Accessibility

1. Art Palace Prague gallery is fully barrier-free accessible.

2. All the premises of the gallery are accessible by the elevator. If the visitor’s wheelchair is too wide to enter the elevator, a narrower wheelchair can be borrowed from the reception.

3. On the ground floor of the gallery is a wheelchair accessible toilet.

4. Visitor Information

1. Visitors behave respectfully in the gallery and do not disturb other visitors.

2. Smoking, handling of open flame, consumption of food and drinks in the exhibition premises are prohibited. (Special events and official vernissages are exceptions).

3. Persons under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants are not allowed to enter the gallery.

4. Visitors are not allowed to enter the exhibition premises with weapons or live animals, except for assistance dogs for people with disabilities.

5. Storage of Personal Belongings

1. Before entering the exhibition premises, the visitor must deposit luggage, bags, photographic tripods, video cameras, umbrellas, wet raincoats and ladies’ handbags larger than 40 x 30 cm in the cloakroom or lockers. Coats and cloaks must also be deposited in the cloakroom as they are not allowed to be carried into the exhibition premises in hand or across an arm.

2. Valuables may be stored in lockable boxes. Visitor must keep the key with them at all times during their visit.

3. The premises of the cloakroom and lockers are monitored by a camera system.

4. The gallery is not responsible for loss or damage of stored items.

6. Protection of Exhibits

1. It is strictly forbidden to touch or approach the exhibited works, frames, pedestals, display cases, vault doors and their dial at a distance of less than 30 cm.

2. Visitors must not bring sharp or dangerous objects into the exhibition premises that could endanger the exhibited works.

3. Any intentional damage to the exhibits or gallery property will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law.

7. Photography and Filming

1. Taking photographs for personal use is allowed without the use of camera flash, tripod, and selfie sticks.

2. Taking photographs and audiovisual recordings is allowed only with prior consent of the gallery management.

3. Members of the media and journalists may make recordings only upon presentation of a press card and approval of the gallery management.

8. Guiding and Educational Programmes

1. Interpretation of exhibitions may only be provided by gallery staff or authorised external lecturers. 

2. Educational group visits are obliged to book their visit in advance by emailing the gallery. Teachers or chaperones are responsible for the behaviour of the educational group. The maximum number of visitors in the group is 35 people.

9. Cultural Events and Lectures

1. Lectures and other cultural events may take place in the gallery premises by agreement with the gallery management

2. Organizers of these events are obliged to respect the operating and safety guidelines of the gallery.

10. Visitor Liability and Penalties

1. Visitors must comply with the Visitor Guidelines.

2. Persons whose behaviour may result in damage to the exhibited works or may threaten the safety and security of other visitors may be instructed to leave the exhibition premises without a refund of the admission fee.

3. In case of damage to the gallery, a report of the incident will be drawn up with the visitor and the assistance of the Police of the Czech Republic may be requested. The sum to be paid in compensation for such damage is determined by the applicable laws.

4. In the event of cancellation of the exhibition or closure for operational reasons, visitors will be refunded the admission fee. The terms of the refund are set by the gallery and will be published on the website.

11. Complaints and Enquiries

1. Visitors can submit their complaint and comments directly to the gallery staff at the box office or contact the gallery management via email at [email protected], the contact form on the gallery website www.artpalaceprague.com, or the reception desk on the ground floor of the gallery.

The Visitor Guidelines are valid as of 1. 3. 2025 and their observance is binding for all visitors to the Art Palace Prague gallery.
